Q. You’ve had such a varied career, what’s been the highlight for you?
So many to choose from.  My first day on set working with Sidney Poitier  it was so nerve racking but amazing . Doing Ready steady Cook live . That was so fantastic doing the Royal Variety show , for the first time , with the young generation waiting to dance in front of the Queen.
Q. With two kids and four grandchildren, how do you balance your busy professional life with your personal life?
I don’t !!!!! Â Not really i work my working life with my personal life . I manage to be at all the grand childrens birthdays . Family is very important to me and I would turn work down if it meant i would miss a big event . When i said yes to ‘SoYou Think you can Dance ‘, it was on the understanding that i had time out for my son’s wedding , otherwise NO DEAL !!
Q. Do you still get nervous before going on stage? Have there been any embarrassing moments for you whilst filming?
Yes i still get nervous , every time i hear the SYTYCD music i get the sweaty hands and feel light headed . Â I hate live shows . The funny thing was on Australian SYTYCD . I was doing it live and i said a dancer was shit hot . Well the presenter said ,”Bonnie said shit Hot , Â My other judge , said ‘did she say shit hot ‘ By then I said ; can’t i say shit on Australian TV . Â We ended up saying 11 shits in one half hour show and you are only allowed 2 . Very embarrassing .
Q. Who are the most interesting people who you’ve had the chance to work with?
I have worked with them all . from Michael Jackson , to Sean Connery , to Cliff Richard , Amie Winehouse , Sidney Poitier , Tom Jones  Gene Kelly, Sammy Davis Junior ,Diana Ross, Cilla Black , Black eyed peas ,Leona Lewis , Olivia Newton John , Jerry lee Lewis , Sarah Ferguson and her daughters .  Donny Osmond . Spice girls , plus a million more .
Best moment was with Gene kelly , I met him in New Zealand , he was the host in a co production with the BBC , he was amazing and at a sit down dinner he knew all our names.
Q. ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ has been hugely popular with audiences around the world. What do you think is the secret to its success?
SYTYCA is a winner because we have opened the door to dancers . Now the World know how hard they work , what stress they are under and how talented they have to be .  Every little girl wants to dance , but now Boys want to join in . Learn Hip Hop, be a Ballroom dancer  .
Also the public realise , dance is for guys as well . getting into a Crew is now looked on as fantastic where as before it was unheard of . People now respect dancers .
In SYTYCD , dancers show what they can do , how quickly they learn and how they work with partners . This is amazing for dancers , They are now recognized for the talented people they are Thanks to SYTYCD . It has also put the Choreographers on the map . We  know who the great ones are .  Taking this show around the world is fantastic , bringing it to the UK is something i wanted to do 3 years ago, but just couldn’t. It is here now and thank God.

Q. How does it feel to see the show finally launched in the UK?
U.K Â will learn what talent we have, and give the British dancer a career, they couldn’t of had without the dance show. This is a big step forward for Dancers and Choreographers. We in UK needed a lift in TV. I believe we have it with SYTYCD.

Great post!
