The Headlands Hotel is an impressively imposing sight along the coast in Newquay. Right on the beach front, the grand 19th century building has played host to some very illustrious guests including Edward VIII, King George VI, King Edward VII and Queen Alexandrap. The décor is simply stunning throughout the hotel, including the beautiful bedrooms, old world style with a few contemporary touches. Perfect for a romantic break, the rooms feel luxurious and very comfortable. You can opt for a stunning sea view or even stay in one the wonderful cottages that line the coast. They are truly picturesque and provide the perfect retreat for anyone looking for that additional level of privacy.

If you chose to dine at the hotel the food is simply delicious. Their produce is all locally sourced and that really comes through in the flavors. The presentation is excellent as is the range and choice of meals, everything we tried was spectacular. The whole experience was lifted by the ambience in the restaurant, relaxed and friendly, it really is an inviting place to eat. You can also chose to eat on the terrace which offers yet more stunning sea views, its such a pleasure to enjoy your meal with the sights and sounds of the ocean.

The service we received during our stay was incredible. Staff were polite, attentive and chatty and really made us feel at home. Any requests we had were very quickly dealt with and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and there is a really friendly intimate atmosphere which belies the grand exterior.

If that weren’t enough fantastic reasons to stay at The Headlands there is one more thing which might convince you – for a small additional cost you can take your pet pooch to stay in your room with you, we don’t know who enjoyed it more, him or us!
