Micro Pigs with their tiny trotters and little snouts are becoming the must have pet. Born weighing about 9oz and the size of a teacup, the pigs only grow to about 65lb and 14 inches tall. The pigs are said to be relatively low maintenance and very sociable pets, apparently they even like to come and sit on your lap and watch the soaps with you!  And despite all the sayings, in reality pigs are very clean especially house-trainable mini ones like these.

However although they may be tiny their price tag isn’t; a mini piglet of your very own goes for around £700 and waiting lists at the best breeders are growing by the day. Though with celebrity owners such as Paris Hilton and Posh and Becks (Victoria bought two for David at Christmas, who are reportedly called David and Elton) and with those irresistibly cute pink faces, no wonder they are so popular all over Britain. Of course there are proper considerations to undertake if you really want one; they must have outside space and you must pig-proof your house. However at the rate their popularity is growing will these become the new man’s best friend?
