Black Dynamite

FINALLY!  The baddest action movie of the summer hits UK screens.   Black Dynamite – Dynamite who?  Shut yo’ mouth and listen. BLACK DYNAMITE is a kung-fu-fighting, pimp-slapping, gun-blasting, outrageously over-the-top parody of ’70s-era blaxploitation films that delivers big action and even bigger laughs like nobody’s business.

In case you missed it, in the 1970s American cinema screens were on fire with blaxploitation films such as SuperFly, Foxy Brown, Coffy, Blacula and Shaft, packed full of larger than life heroes and heroines from the ghetto with kung fu moves straight out of a Bruce Lee film. Sadly the genre died down in the 80s but thanks to Director Scott Sanders and writers Michael Jai White and Byron Minns – it’s back and badder than ever.

Michael Jai White plays ex CIA Agent and full time Ladies Man Black Dynamite and ladies look out and he has a body to die for with a wink and a smile that will make you purr.  He’s avenging the death of his brother against kung-fu masters, dope dealing pimps and The Man.  The action is fast and frenetic, as are the laughs and they’ve even included the classic B-Movie mistakes like boom mics in shot and guest cameos for you to search for throughout the film.

Black Dynamite has also impressed the critics gaining an Official Selection at Sundance, Edinburgh, Tribeca, Seattle and Black Harvest Film, American Black and Karlovy Vary Film Festivals last year.  Director Spike Lee was quoted as saying “Look out for this film. It’s Hilarious!”

So brush up yo’ fro and get down to the cinema cause if you crave satisfaction – you’re going to dig this action.   DY-NO-MITE!
