Hi Tam,

Thank you for your query.

Clutter is subjective. One person’s beloved collection is another person’s clutter. As long as when you walk into the space you don’t feel overwhelmed by the collection and it’s visually appealing to you then you’re on the right track!

Have fun developing your style.

Hi Marianne,

Glad you found the article interesting.

In regards to flowers look at the proportion and size of the flowers to the size and shape of the vase/vessel. A vase with a narrow neck showcases a single stem beautifully. A vase tightly packed with the same flower, e.g. straight stemmed roses looks stunning as does a loosely arranged whimsical posy. Check out your local florist for ideas. Some florist hold flower arranging workshops.

If you can buy an orchid whose flowers are a warm colour as it will harmonious better with the yellow walls (which I'm assuming is a warm yellow).

Hope that is of help to you.

I love the collection of objects on the wall. That eclectic mix is so nice - but how do you stop it from looking cluttered?

Hi Claire,

Pleased the article was of help to you. If you find you have lots of objects, don't feel you have to have them all out on display at once. By changing your displays is a simple and quick way to give your interiors a fresh look.

Have fun experimenting!

What an interesting career so far! The Awards are a great idea, I love the way they bring every aspect of London's culture together in one place.

That is so interesting about even/uneven numbers of things, I never thought about it! I have a question instead about flowers: how important is number for those? and how about colours? Can I get away with an orchid in a room that's painted light yellow? Thanks!
