Shirley MacLaine reviews The Weigh Forward:
A warm welcome to everyone reading and interacting with this April’s newsletter, the last couple of months have been busier than usual due to the launch of my book The Weigh Forward. I have to thank all my friends, family, colleagues, BackDoor and Quartet publishing for all their hard work and support in bringing the book to the shelves. Many of my clients and endorsers attended Soho House and the Ivy Club launches, and the rest of the book signings have taken me all over the country and are due to start again in the States next month. More of which later in the newsletter, including the interview I recently did for Shirley MacLaine’s radio Show. (Pics of Leslie with book, Joe with Book)

It has been a busy winter for most of us on many levels and as we ‘sprung forward’ into British Summer Time last weekend it’s the perfect opportunity to look back at all you have achieved over the last 3 -12 months in all aspects of your life. Have you finished a project that has been hanging around for a while? Taken on new responsibilities in work? Rejuvenated a stagnant relationship? Made a life-changing decision and acted on it?
It isn’t about whether you have gone through one of those major changes, as a micro shift is often as important as the bigger picture, and subtly they can complement each other. We all know the feeling of having a clear out, of freshly painting a room, of making an effort to send a hand written note of gratitude to a friend, a partner, or a work colleague. As tired as the cliché seems, taking action in some small way can create shift on a grander scale.
At the end of my book The Weigh Forward I reference how in today’s society people are so used to living in a short-term memory world (constantly rushing, checking social networking sites, acting with immediacy on the mobile phone and with regards to text messages, accessing 24hr television, gaming and the online virtual world) that they are rapidly losing the ability to contemplate, to intuit, to be alone with the self and to feed their emotional and spiritual intelligence – to build a relationship with their own subconscious. I read the novel ‘A River Runs Through It,’ recently (you may remember the movie with Robert Redford and Brad Pitt) and yes I read it in peace, without a mobile phone or computer in sight, but there is an apt quote in it that jumped out:
‘All there is to thinking is seeing something noticeable, which makes you see something you weren’t noticing which makes you see something that isn’t even visible.’
Any time spent alone with your thoughts will build a bridge of awareness to your subconscious!
THE WEIGH FORWARD:
I wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you who have supported the launch of my book, and for the fantastic feedback that has come in already, which has meant so much. We kicked off the launch at Soho house on the 15th February and followed it up with the Ivy club on the 17th, a mixture of friends, clients, family and journalists made for an exciting hub and there have been some very complimentary articles written already which I have uploaded to the press room on my website www.juleswilliams.com
The book is available online from Amazon, from most Waterstones stores and many other online outlets, and for those who want to experience a five day residential retreat of The Weigh Forward programme, I have shared details below.

RESIDENTIAL RETREAT: (West Wales)
I will be running a five day residential retreat in West Wales from the 22 – 27th of May purely for The Weigh Forward programme. It will give a small select group the opportunity to investigate the deep seated reasons why they will have been struggling with weight shape or repetitive thoughts around food, eating and body image. I have been blessed with some fantastic groups over the years and always trust that the depth of clearing and healing that takes place is at the forefront of deep soul and subconscious work. I have run some intensive one to one retreats too over the last six months and there is a link here to what Alex Reid had to say after us working together for 4 days.
To reserve a place on the retreat please call the office on 0207 734 9034 or e-mail me direct at jules@juleswilliams.com
SHIRLEY MACLAINE:
As some of you may be aware I am now regularly contributing articles for Shirley Maclaine’s magazine ‘Dynamic Living,’ and have also recorded an hour long interview for her radio station with her compatriot Brit Elders regarding The Weigh Forward – www.shirleymaclaine.com
I have long held respect for Shirley and am really excited about being able to forge a greater working relationship with her over the next few years. My wife Rosemary and I are flying over to her ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico next month, so I will keep you all informed of what develops. (Pic of Shirley Maclaine)
