FESTIVAL FASHION: WHAT TO WEAR?

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Music and general camp experience will always be a great time to provide opportunities, but small details, such as wearing inappropriate clothing come rain, mud or shine. A little planning beforehand should ensure that everything goes smoothly, allowing you to fully embrace the festival fashion spirit.

Check the weather forecast before packing is always a good idea. If the hot weather will be a weekend you will not have a stack of jumpers to use, and if it will be possible when the wet slippers or beach shorts without the actual need. Traveling light is the best, but the underwear and socks to take more than you think you need is a good idea, especially if rain forecast. The right shoes are also important. Most likely, you have to spend a day in the same. Obviously, if you want a big rain and mud, wellies are the logical choice. Look your best is always important, even in one. If you’re camping,  you will not have full mirror to see your style, be able to quickly escape from the camp, the stage is important, if you want a good place in front. This means that expectations of a pre-planned – whether you buy your stuff before or old things in particular – can give you a start.

With the constant threat of muddy, slippery fields doubled, it would be to drink the liquid – and thrown out of the crowd members – and your clothes are always at risk. Wearing a dark or colorful clothes will help hide any mud. If it is sunny, T-shirts and shorts should be sufficient, but in the cold – or wet – second, the need to wear extra clothes. A light waterproof jacket is useful, but if you forget a most camps will be for sale cape. Combat pants pocket, and this is convenient for storing your holiday necessities, and to take the night to make the camp a little sweater to wear more comfortable. Dressed in the right to wear is often a big difference to your enjoyment of the event; whether the mud, swimming, or baking in the sun! Enjoy!

Friday, May 14th, 2010

By Katy Taylor

Summer Festival fashion is not necessarily restricted to those of you who are into your music, it’s simply conjures up a look that you perhaps would adopt if you attended one.
So whether you’re looking forward to going to a summer festival or not, you can still get the key essentials for the outfit that would lend itself to spending a weekend in the outdoors listening mostly to music and generally having a great time with friends.

There’s nothing better to start off your summer festival fashion wardrobe than of course with a floral dress, it certainly says summer, outdoors, fun and one of our favourite shops Topshop, Zara, Selfridges and H&M have all got tons of clothes to get you in that summer festival fashion mood.

Take this floral playsuit £28 from Topshop which  brings out the gentle feminine side of your nature with this  floral print which is just perfect for Spring and Summer. The cut of the playsuit with  waistline compliments your figure and creates the illusion of a tiny waist.

SOCKS THE LONG & THE SHORT OF IT

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Article by Katy Scarlet Taylor

They’ve been slowly creeping onto the scene for the last season or so and have been all over the catwalks at the recent fashion weeks. You heard it here at MACS first – it’s time to sadly fold away the leggings and pull out the long socks, or short lame socks if you feel brave enough with your heels this summer.

A LOOK BACK AT FASHION WEEK: MATTHEW WILLIAMSON

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Article by Katy Taylor

One of my fav fashion designers has always been Matthew Williamson for his bright and vibrant clothes that always make women look super sexy without seamingly much effort. However for Fall 2010 he showed a softer, more sophisticated side with the uses of fall textures from tweed to leather. Prints which by the way are massive this year are of course Williamson’s main design technique and they still splash onto the collection in dresses of all shapes. What was great to see this week was that by using leather and tweed Williamson has shhown that his clothes are suitable for city life and not just when your heading off to a beach party in Cannes. One of the main coloures he features through his collection which excites me is electric blue which looks so cool with a black leather jacket while out on the town. Other main coloures included soft pinks and for shoes it was mostly neutral-toned and black gladiator sandals. When it comes to his hair and make up it was all nautral with hair pulled back in glossy buns and soft foundation and nude lips. This collection is already being copied on the high street and is one look you must have in your wardrobe this year.

The Season’s Toughest Metal Trousers

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Article by Katy Scarlet Taylor

Its no big fashion secret that we’ve been up to our chins in studs, buckles, laces, and every kind of bad-ass accoutrement you can think of for the past few seasons. But just when we thought the look had finally run out of steam, designers put an inventive spin on this die-hard trend, moving their embellishments down south to toughen up some legwear. Balmain to Acne’s trousers with built-in metal knee-pads, we’re looking forward to shimmying into the latest incarnation of our guilty-pleasure trend this season. Look out for more affordable versions in American Apparel, Sass & Bide, Mango and Christopher Kane for Topshop.

HEELS LOVERS

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Article by Katy Scarlet Taylor

Maï Lamore’s ready-to-wear collection leaves me really wanting to live in Paris so I can visit her store every Saturday. Richly hued and always adorned with some specialties, like silk, feathers, panthers, or a heel that looks like a bolt of lightening dipped in gold. Rhianna has just been spotted in a pair and Topshop look like they may be stocking them very soon. Lamore’s creations are never dull and never fail to excite an outfit. Do visit and explore her website because it’s as rich as my picks below www.mailamore.com

CHANEL TRANSFER TATTOOS SET TO LAUNCH MARCH!

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Article by Katy Scarlet Taylor

Tattoo’s have never really been fashionable, even though Marc Jacobs is covered in quite a number of them but Chanel are about to change it all with the release of Chanel tattoo transfers in March. Transfers and body paint were all over the spring summer catwalks, first at Rodarte, closely followed by Jean Paul Gaultier and then at Chanel.
Well, once Chanel got in on the act with their clever bracelets, bead and flower designs, which were by far the most beautiful and trendy take on the look. Wear with bright dresses or leather jackets and boots in the evening for the edgy look. Chanel is launching the transfers in boutiques, concessions and the Selfridges counter from 1 March so get down their quick in your heels and bag a few pairs. Make sure you get there early these transfers will go F-A-S-T!

LONDON FASHION WEEK: PPQ

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Article by Katy Scarlet Taylor

PPQ was one of the first fashion shows celebrities and all the press wanted to get in and see. Over the last couple of seasons it has gained a cult following kicked off by Amy Winehouse when she became an ambassador for the label. Then it was all about bright floral patterns (remember the yellow flowed dress worn to death by Wino?) this
seasons the clothes featured luxe black and gold and it was all about thigh high boots and strappy sandles. Many pieces were pannelled with opposite tones and a texture of black with big pieces such as fur coats and dresses with button details. The make up matched the look with models being given an equally luxe look with super dramatic smoky eye and nude lips. What I love most about the look is how they blended the color all the way into the nose while using a dash of gold on the inner corner to keep the eyes sparkling. A great night time look which will keep London women loving the label for another season to come.
