It’s fair to say that Britney Spears is the queen of the comeback. She has gone from pop princess to drug addict to shaving her own hair off to being back to number one- and just about everywhere in between. And as much as we secretly love to see stars hit rock bottom (come one, you now it’s true!) we love it more when they are back on top. So we are pleased to announce that once again Britney is back on top and, this time, is adorned from head to toe in D&G. Promotional images for Spears’s new album, Femme Fatale, see the 29-year-old pictured wearing a selection of pieces by the celebrated Italian design duo. They have even confessed to loving Britney and dancing around to her songs. Now that’s something we’d like to see!

For so many reasons March is always a joyous month- none more so than the fact that it is the month we start to buy festival tickets for the summer, plan summer breaks and dream about the oh-so-now summer trends that are just about hitting the stores. And whilst there are SO many things that we could recommend this summer- there is one that we here at Macs are more excited than any other; The Secret Garden Party. Heralded last summer as the festival of the season, the Secret Garden Party is like no other festival on the circuit. Notorious for being kooky, quirky and downright debaucherous, this festival is for people who love things that are a little off the beaten track and as far away from mainstream as they come.

Is it any wonder that he is the highest paid male model of the moment? Um… No.

Often referred to as Karl Lagerfeld’s lover (something that he casually refutes but a rumour that he doesn’t seem to mind), Giabiconi is one of the most perfect looking men one could ever hope to lay eyes on.

He has modelled for just about all of the big fashion houses, is persueing a music career and has been referred to by Lagerfeld himself as ‘a boy version of Gisele’… we can only dream.

Now we know that discussing the ins and outs of the superhero world is not particularly ‘Macs’, but trust us… when it involves someone as hot as Henry Cavill we simply can’t help but give our two cents. Now many of you may have never heard of our nation’s newest heart throb; however that’s all set to change. Rumour has it he was one of three contenders (including Sam Worthington and Daniel Craig) to be shortlisted to star as the new Bond and only narrowly missed out. And he may now be counting his lucky stars because, come on, what man wouldn’t want to play the ever charming Clarke Kent and his always sexy, much fantasised-over alter ego?

And for so many different reasons! Not only is there an abundance of unmissable films out at the moment- so much so that the thought of missing one is actually stressing us out- but it’s also the best frock watching time of the year. Yes that’s right, award season rolls around and red carpets from one side of the Atlantic to the other are filled with the latest it-girl designs, must have colours and, of course, the most cringe-worthy fashion faux pas. We’ve had the BAFTAs, we’ve had the Golden Globes… bring on the Oscars.

Once known as those things that lived in the back of your closest that your Gran has been knitting you every year since you were seven, kooky knitted jumpers are huge this season and somehow we think that this trend will be around for a while. This uber-stylish, and not to mention cosy, trend can be worn big over leggings and ankle boots or short with jeans and brogues or even a skirt and the wackier the print the better. Keep things simple with black and grey tones or make a statement with wild colours and bold patterns. Finally something that is cool and comfortable!

One thing is for certain this season and it is the fact that everyone from clothes designers to make up retailers are going retro. Old-style design is back with a vengeance and can be seen on everything from the clothes that people are wearing to the perfume bottles that they are buying- and just about everything in between. Think beautiful vintage fur coats, make up that resembles the old school rouge and powder compacts used in the 1950s and even retro furniture. So whether you head to your nearest flee market to find it, or to any of the department stores that are stocking the huge rage of old-made-new retro products, embrace all that is vintage this season to really stand out.

Call it a guilty pleasure; call it your little bit of escapism on a Sunday night- call it what you will.  But whatever you call it there is no denying it- Desperate House Wives is fab! Us here at Macs were so excited about the return of our four favourite ladies from Wisteria Lane and the series so far has filed to disappoint. And to top things off we get to perve on the gorgeous Brian Austin Green- and let’s just say that he has come a long way from his rather forgettable Beverly Hills 90210 days! To top things off Vanessa Williams has joined the cast in what promises to be her bitchiest role yet and we literally cannot wait to see what she and the rest of the girls get up to this season.
